Introducing this sensory museum. The brief for this project was a temporary installation for an existing museum, with the well known architect Steven Holl as the inspiration source. The aim was to create an interactive experience that led up to a final exhibition spot within the room.

Steven Holl is an architect known for his ability to play with basic shapes and lights. He considers the context and creates unique designs in its simplicity. He makes room for all of our senses to have their unique experience.

By keeping the basic geometrics, the concept of being “contained” is shown throughout the exhibition. You walk through grid aligned cubes which each contain an extraordinary experience. The boxes embrace you and protect you in a high tech ambience. The dark ceiling and walls create an interesting contrast and mystery.

The smaller boxes contain an experience such as visual design, sounds or textures. The bigger boxes are facing the walls where you can read about Steven Holl and his projects, in addition to an experience of your senses.

Walking through the different informative boxes, you end up by the final exhibition by the window. By taking advantage of the natural light, the emphasis is put on the final showcase. The dominance of the natural light resembles the importance Steven Holl puts on lighting.

By combining the key elements of the architect Steven Holl, this exhibition offers an embracing and interactive experience, by playing with lights and geometrical shapes.
